Venus Caravans was a lightweight touring caravan range produced by Lunar Caravans in the UK in 2012 and quickly became one of Lunar's best-selling ranges. Positioned as the first step on the Lunar ladder, the Venus range was created to offer affordable, easy-to-tow caravans with modern layouts for couples and families.
Lunar, based in Preston, Lancashire, had already built a reputation for lightweight caravan design, and the Venus brand continued that approach. Earlier Lunar budget ranges had existed before, but Venus proved to be the company's most successful value-focused line. The range was aimed at buyers who wanted a caravan that was lighter, simpler and cheaper than higher-spec Lunar models, while still offering good equipment and practical layouts.
The Venus range was updated over time, with a notable refresh for the 2015 season, followed by further layout and specification changes for later model years. By the 2019 season, Lunar had boosted the equipment level again, adding features such as a radio/MP3 player, dual-fuel hob, and revised exterior styling.
Production of Venus caravans ended when Lunar ceased trading in 2019. Even so, Venus models remain popular in the used caravan market, especially with buyers looking for a lightweight caravan at a sensible price.
Common Venus models included:
A compact two-berth caravan aimed at couples wanting something small and easy to tow.
A lightweight four-berth layout designed for flexibility and family use.
Popular fixed-bed four-berth models that gave buyers a more spacious layout without moving into a heavier caravan class. The 570 was introduced for the 2016 season and became one of the range's best sellers.
A six-berth family caravan that helped broaden the range's appeal to larger households.
Venus caravans became popular because they offered:
That combination made Venus one of the stronger entry-level caravan ranges in the UK, often mentioned alongside Sprite in the budget sector.

They were specifically positioned as an entry-level, lightweight range, so yes - that's one of the main reasons they became popular.
