Bailey Caravans of Bristol - History and Overview

Bailey of Bristol is one of the UK's most respected and longest-established manufacturers of touring caravans and leisure vehicles. Founded in 1948, the company has built a strong reputation for producing high-quality, well-engineered caravans designed specifically for the needs of British caravanners.

The company began when Martin Bailey, an engineer from Bristol, built his first caravan in his garage and sold it locally. Demand quickly grew, and the business expanded into a full-scale manufacturing operation at South Liberty Lane in Bristol, where Bailey caravans are still produced today.

Over the decades Bailey has become one of the largest caravan manufacturers in the United Kingdom, introducing many popular and award-winning models. Well-known ranges include the Bailey Unicorn, Phoenix, Pegasus, Pageant and Senator, all recognised for their modern layouts, lightweight construction and practical design.

Bailey has also been a leader in innovation, introducing advanced construction methods such as Alu-Tech bodyshell technology, which improves strength, insulation and durability. In addition to touring caravans, the company now produces motorhomes and campervans, expanding its presence across the leisure vehicle market.

Today, with more than 75 years of manufacturing experience, Bailey of Bristol continues to be a trusted brand among UK caravanners, known for quality craftsmanship, thoughtful design and reliable performance.
